Horses save land
More than a million acres of land in Pennsylvania are preserved as a direct result of the equine industry. In addition, the equine industry is a critical component of the state's economy. The equine industry is more than race horses. It's a diverse, broad-based industry employing farm workers, veterinarians, farriers, trainers, jockeys and more.
Development squeezes trails
As land gets developed, equestrian access to trails is compromised. That's why equestrians are partners in land preservation. That's why the Foundation supports programs like the Pennsylvania Equine Council's Trail Stewardship Program.
